Situated on the corner of Charterhouse Street and Farringdon Road, The JJ Mack Building is a 10-story, 18,600 sqm (200,000 sq ft) modern development. The project provides high-quality, tech-enabled offices with retail spaces on the ground floor and three terraces with extensive views across central London. The massing of the building is guided by a contextual approach, respecting the existing buildings of the area. The façades are articulated in two different ways, distinguishing the low part - with natural stone cladding - and the upper one featured by a floor-to-ceiling glazed envelope.
The design of The JJ Mack Building was assessed as the UK’s first BREEAM 2018 new construction rating of ‘Outstanding’ in design and the scheme’s sustainability goals are on track to achieve a BREEAM Outstanding Certification - the most important method for evaluating sustainability in buildings worldwide - and the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ‘A’. In addition, it is set to become one of Farringdon’s first smart buildings.
Design & engineering, manufacturing and installation of unitized curtain wall with double glazed units and stone, glass balustrade at terraces levels, bespoke stick system at the main entrance and GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete) cladding at the ground floor for an overall area of approx. 6,800 sqm (73,200 sq ft).
