The building was clad with over 65,000 sqm (700,000 sq ft) of curtain wall, including vertical and sloped wall at the podium, double and screen wall at the tower. Facets of the curtain wall to the south have been designed with a deep double wall as part of a sustainable strategy. The floor-to-ceiling insulating glass lets daylight through to further optimize heating and cooling, and to reduce energy demands. The high rise, designed by New York architects COOKFOX, is the first commercial building to ever receive Platinum LEED certification, the highest rating available from the U.S. Green Building Council. One Bryant Park was recognized as the Best Tall Building Americas Winner in the 2010 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards Program.
