The Concept

Atrio is a major mixed-use commercial development located at the intersection of Calle 26 and Avenida Caracas, in central Bogotà. The project consists of two towers arranged around 10,000 sqm (107,600 sq ft) of open, public space at ground level. The first phase of the scheme comprises Atrio North Tower, a 201.6-meter (661-foot) high-rise offering over 50,000 sqm (538,200 sq ft) of flexible office space distributed over 44 levels.

HEIGHT

44 stories tall

Designed by world class, London-based architectural studio Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners, Atrio North Tower features an innovative, one-of-a-kind façade in Latin America. The high-rise is enveloped in different types of glass façades which guarantee a wide spectrum of shadows and brightness in the morning, at noon and in the afternoon. To achieve this complex, multifaceted curtain wall system, a lot of tests - permeability, static and dynamic pressure, air infiltration, wind loads and water tightness along with seismic test - were performed on a full-scale 100 sqm (1,080 sq ft) large mock-up built at the Permasteelisa Group headquarters in Italy. In addition to that the façade, made up of around 6,000 glass panels, guarantees the highest thermal-acoustic performances, thus reducing energy consumption and creating a healthy workplace. Atrio North Tower is LEED Gold®.
