Designed by world class, London-based architectural studio Rogers Stirk Harbor + Partners, Atrio North Tower features an innovative, one-of-a-kind façade in Latin America. The high-rise is enveloped in different types of glass façades which guarantee a wide spectrum of shadows and brightness in the morning, at noon and in the afternoon. To achieve this complex, multifaceted curtain wall system, a lot of tests - permeability, static and dynamic pressure, air infiltration, wind loads and water tightness along with seismic test - were performed on a full-scale 100 sqm (1,080 sq ft) large mock-up built at the Permasteelisa Group headquarters in Italy. In addition to that the façade, made up of around 6,000 glass panels, guarantees the highest thermal-acoustic performances, thus reducing energy consumption and creating a healthy workplace.
