The 367.5 m (1,205 ft) high Bank of China Tower is one of the world’s tallest buildings, a towering landmark in the Hong Kong skyline. Shaped as a bamboo forest representing revival and hope, the asymmetrical 70-story tower makes its mark on both skyline and street. Its shape does truly resemble stalks of bamboo pushing skyward with a strong central shaft and flanking columns. The building’s structural form conceals portions of the exterior cross braces to create prism-like facets clad in reflective glass that mirror the sky as it changes.
